Design optional purchases around player understanding

A purchase prompt changes a game’s relationship with its player. Clear descriptions, visible costs and a fair core experience help the player understand what is being offered before deciding.

Compare cosmetic items, extra content and convenience features by the effect they have on play. A purchase that removes an intentionally created frustration may produce a different experience from one that adds a new activity.

For a prototype, map the player’s path with every prompt removed. Confirm that the game still communicates its goals and limitations. Any purchase system needs clear terms and appropriate platform handling; this page offers design questions rather than a payment service.
