Make game feedback understandable

Connect every important action with readable feedback. A hit can use a shape change, a short sound and a score response, but none of those should obscure the next decision.

Observe a playtester without explaining the result. Ask what happened after a round and improve the weakest cue before adding decorative effects.

Continue the study

Work through a small code example, make one deliberate change and record the effect. The reading links below connect this exercise with animation, input and retro game design.
