Game architecture and multiplayer study notes
Multiplayer work starts with a clear local game. Define state, input and a complete round before deciding which information needs to cross a network.
Study how a runtime handles events, scene changes and deterministic rules. Keep presentation separate from the model so a network update can be understood as a state change rather than a collection of drawing commands.
Before adding a network
- Define who owns authoritative state.
- State how a lost connection affects a round.
- Use reproducible input to test the rules.
- Make turn and connection status visible.
