Build a careful early Atari timeline

A timeline should explain the sequence of events without pretending every date has equal certainty. Distinguish a design milestone, an announcement, manufacturing and the point when players could encounter a game.

For a focused study of 1973, keep the source type beside each entry. Company records, newspaper advertisements and later interviews can disagree because they describe different stages of an event.

Avoid turning a compact chronology into a claim about a single cause. A hardware design, distribution decision and player response can overlap. A useful timeline makes those relationships visible and leaves uncertainty explicit.
